Summer is Here!

We're having an awesome summer so far. Can you believe I'm posting? Quick update on all: Melanie and kids visiting, Eva home from school, Dan and Warren preparing to leave, Emma graduates in August,to name a few.

Virginia Spring Salad

Had this delicious salad at Elizabeth's Sorenson's.
She got it from Robyn Anderson, and I made slight changes in the list of ingredients.


Salad greens
Sliced mushrooms
Sliced red onion
Dried cranberries
Avocado slices
Sliced cucumber
Feta cheese
Sliced Hearts of Palm
Sliced peppers

Heavenly Dressing:
(This makes the salad)
¼ red onion
1 cup sugar
2 tsp. dry mustard
½ cup red wine vinegar
1 cup extra virgin olive oil

(Puree in a blender until frothy. You can store this dressing in the refrigerator for a while).

Kids Craft City!

There were scissors, paper, glue, and glitter flying all December! The kids were busy as bees making decorations and ornaments. The kids helped with gingerbread houses, pomanders, gingerbread men, spritz cookies, and white chocolate dipped cashews.







Even Biscuit was ready for the holidays.
